Student interest in Batumi's raptor migration has grown so much that our Research Coordinator can barely keep up. Here's an overview of the research currently underway at BRC.
When we launched our crowdfunding campaign on Christmas Eve 2021 we were not entirely sure what to expect. Over the years we have received endless words of encouragement and appreciation.
Batumi Raptor Count has long documented the causes and consequences of illegal raptor shooting in Georgia, but the role of traditional falconers remained a blind spot. Last autumn, BRC teamed up with Fauna & Flora International to explore whether a constructive alliance with ethical falconers is possible.
2013 was already the 3rd Autumn in which BRC organized an "Environmental Education Exchange" for students from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

From 10-15 august 2013 BRC hosted the first Back to Nature camp for 15 Georgian children between 10-14 years old, coming from different backgrounds.

It is our distinct pleasure to announce that the Rufford Small Grants Foundation (RSGF) has approved a 2nd small grant for the monitoring and conservation work conducted at BRC.
