Inezia: 24 - 31 Aug 2013

The trip revolves entirely around Batumi and it's migration, combing the raptor watching with birding hotspots nearby. The timing of this tour coincides with very divers migration, including high numbers of Honey buzzards, Montagu's harriersLevant Sparrowhawks and the first Pallid harriers, Long-legged buzzards, eagles and others. But the migration is not only about birds of prey. The abundance of waders and passerines is huge and Rollers, Bee-eaters, Lesser Gray shrikes and Orioles are everywhere. The trip is guided by Pim Wolf, one of the best Dutch birders, a gull-expert and a highly skilled migration counter. Rubythroath Birding: 11 - 21 Sept 2013

This unique tour focuses on raptor and passerine migration in southwest Georgia near the coastal city of Batumi. During this splendid trip we will focus on the raptor migration, and enjoy this spectacle together with the volunteers of the Batumi Raptor Count which have recorded last year no less then 1 million raptors! Next to raptors we also visit several good marsh and mountainous areas to focus also on the ongoing passerine migration and to find some local goodies such as Kruper’s Nuthatch, Caspian Snowcock and Caucasian Black Grouse. This tour is lead by Machiel Valkenburg together with a local Georgian guide and is suitable for both Dutch and English speakers. David Billy Herman: 15 - 25 Sept 2013

On this trip, Billy will guide you in Dutch, together with a Georgian guide, starting from Tbilisi, to the Greater Caucasus (Kazbegi) over the Lesser Caucasus (Ninotsminda, Vardzia, Borjomi, Zekari) to Batumi. Target species include all Caucasian bird-specialties and other treats such as four species of Vultures, Wallcreeper, Red-fronted serin, Alpine accentor, Blue rock thrush,  Dalmatian pelican, Casarca, ao  whilst keeping a focus on other wildlife as well. The tour ends with a climax of raptor migration at it's most divers. Expect mixed flocks of Honey and Steppe Buzzards with Black kites and Booted Eagles, high numbers of Pallid harriers and Lesser spotted eagles with a good chance to see Greater Spotted and Steppe Eagle or even a Crested Honey buzzard!
